NBC Announces Debut Date for New Show Deception; Laz Alonso & Meagan Good to Co-Star

NBC recently announced the mid-season debut date for Deception (Monday nights, in the 10pm – 11pm hour, starting  January 72013) and now we can get a sneak peek at all the juicy bits!

Deception stars Meagan Good as detective Joanna Locasto, a female detective who returns undercover to the wealthy family she grew up in – as the maid’s daughter – to solve the murder of the notorious heiress who was once her closest friend – celebutante Vivian Lawson. The NBC series also co-stars Laz Alonso, who will play NYPD detective Will Sacovitch. He recruits Good’s character- his former flame- to team up and infiltrate the Lawson home.

I don’t know about you but I can’t wait to catch this show! It’s great that we are getting more Black Women on televison in roles that could be played by anyone-aka “human” characters and not necessarily race-specific. It will undoubtably help more Blacks and Latinos break into television with more substantial roles.
