StyleWatch: Red Carpet Style!

The carpet may have been all colors, but the ladies were white hot for the weekend’s awards celebrations! There was no shortage of color, skin ans sexy in this week’s lineup, check out the looks below:

BLF fave Dascha Polanco rocked the Heineken-sponsored green-carpet with this red-hot number at the Latin Grammy’s!

Abandoning her grey locs for a more classic style, Polanco let her curves be the star in this simple silhouette with minimal makeup and jewelry.

Model Mauza Antonio brought a well-needed pop of color to the carpet with her leggy ensemble:

This is normally not my favorite color but she rocked it! The peek-a-boo slits keep it sexy without being pageant-y. Love!

And *literally* bringing up the rear on the green carpet was Rocsi Diaz!

I absolutely cannot say enough about how enamored I was with this dress! It allows me to forgive her for this next misstep…

..later this week at the AMA’s. I’m not quite sure what she was going for here. It’s a bit too youthful, I would have liked it more on Zendaya or Ariana Grande.

On the other hand, Garcelle Beauvais shows the ladies how to keep it grown and sexy.

I have no idea why she is attending but I sure am glad she did! SPEAKING of grown and sexy..

Out & About; BLF at Plus Night Out!

The return of summer temperatures did not stop the Glam as fashionistas and socialites convened for the second annual Plus Night Out!

PlusNightOut

Sponsored by Ashley Stuart, Ideel, Sidney’s Closet and more, PNO brought together designers, stylists, fashion’s elite and fashion enthusiasts for a night of networking, cocktails, fun and fashion. Guests were treated to signature sangrias upon arrival, where they were encouraged to take pictures on the red carpet, and gift bags from Sidney’s Closet awaited them once they were seated.

The evening continued with a showcase from houses like Qristyl Frazier Designs , Seven Curves by John Marc and Jill Alexander Designs. Capping off the evening’s excitement was the announcement of the PNO Model Search, Miss Wema Enofe! Miss Enofe wins a $500 prize as well as representation for the year.

All in all it was a fun time, and it was great seeing everyone from Full-Figured Fashion Week (which I TOTALLY cannot wait for)! Plus Night Out had a big turnout and put together a solid set of presentations. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for next year!

*BLF will be covering quite a bit this season, so look out for links to my other articles or pop over to my Instagram to view the fun!

I’VE GOT A SECRET (The Curvy Socialite & Ideeli)

The Curvy Socialite

In recent weeks I have been on this mission to “curate” my life. I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting ready to start a new chapter (stay tuned my darlings….all will be revealed in due time) but I have been on a “de-cluttering” kick. Paring down and “lightening” up your environment is a great way to make room for new things. .

So part of this new chapter has me changing up my style a bit…”upgrading” my fashion sense so to speak. My very late “spring cleaning” has me at a point that my closet is nearly empty. Between what I have donated, given away or sold…there really isn’t much left in the wardrobe. This near Herculean (lol…see my reference to this summer’s certain blockbuster… I can’t wait to see Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the movie about the ancient Greek hero) task has me trolling…er..browsing the internet looking for…

Laura Govan slayed this hard-to-pull-off silk jumpsuit at Russell Simmons’s All Def Comedy Jam. Sleek hair, gold sandals and minimal accessories completed the look.

Tatiana Ali paired this summer’s soft pant trend with a fitted blazer and a pop of color in her crop top and heels at the New York premiere of Comeback Dad. I just copped a pair from NY & Co and I can’t wait to see how many fun ways I can wear them!
